The past two weeks, students have been furiously working on some ball-point pen drawings on 9x12" paper. These drawings were in response to a big discussion about limitations in art making. We talked about the different limits throughout the year that students had in their project assignments, as well as limitations that artists have given themselves in art history as well as contemporary art. We looked at several artists, examined their work, and then students responded with the task of creating a full value shaded ball-point pen drawing that showed unity, texture, and followed the art rules.
